This 3-CD set is sure to include all of your little one's favorites for playtime, sing-alongs, and dancing. The songs cover just about every genre with some soul, country, gospel, bluegrass, rap, and swing. A large variety of instruments are also heard, including bass and acoustic guitar, keyboard, harp, bells, trumpet, tuba, banjo, drums, cell, pennywhistle, washboard, tambourine, piano, fiddle, accordion, ukulele, saxophone, clarinet, and more! What makes this alum truly stand out are the real toddler voices heard on almost every track singing, speaking, and giggling.
Parents and grandparents will have as much fun as their little one with these songs, as the album is sure to inspire some nostalgia; did you sing My Little Playmate (Say Say O Playmate) or play Ring around the Rosy on the playground when you were little? Each track features new and silly voices, as well as fun sound effects. Little listeners can join in the animal noises in Old Mac Donald, sing call-and-response in Miss Mary Mack, or whisper a whole verse of John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt with the toddler on the album. The tone of the songs is consistently upbeat, but the tempos are kept slow enough that children can catch on to the words and easily join in. You don't have to sing along though - those listeners with active imaginations will explore an old mine, attend an old fashioned hoedown, celebrate their birthday, meet a king, traipse through the forest, march in a parade, do the hokey pokey and more! The final nine songs on the third album are all lullabies and provide are a wonderful way to help your little one wind down after all the excitement of the first two CDs.
The CDs are easy to make interactive and educational. There are two versions of the ABCs and BINGO, which are fun ways to start learning to spell. Multiple songs in the 3-CD set help those just learning to count, such as Monkeys on the Bed and 1, 2 Buckle My Shoe. Songs like If You're Happy and You Know It or Who Stole The Cookies (from the cookie jar) are great songs to play as a family. Watch your little one giggle when it's their turn to say who stole the cookies from the cookie jar! Loop De Loop is the same idea as the hokey pokey, so it's a great dance song for play time. Dry Bones (also known as Dem Bones) and Head, Shoulders, Knees, Toes are creative and fun ways for toddlers to learn their body parts.
My two-year-old friend Kyle's favorite song is Old Dan Tucker. The country tune includes some awesome banjo picking and the tune is downright infectious. Kyle and I were dancing around (okay, I was holding him and swinging around like a nerd) in the living room having our own private hoedown!
