Sesame Street's resident lovable monster, Elmo, to takes kids on an artistic adventure through dancing, music and books. Kids ages two and up will love learning about the fascinating world of the arts through songs, counting games, Q&As and a variety of other engaging and educational clips. Throughout the DVD, Elmo shares Dorothy's questions with a hilarious Mr. Noodle, interacts with his real life friends and encourages children at home to play along.
While children will jump at the chance to watch this video purely to see Elmo, parents will love it for the valuable lessons. Kids learn about going to the library, making musical instruments out of household objects and dancing the Hokey Pokey. Interactive segments, such as counting the number of books on a bookshelf or deciding what objects make music, help prepare children for preschool too.
I shared this DVD with Emily, the three-year-old I nanny for, and she loved it even more than the other Elmo videos. Of course, it helped that the three topics were some of her favorite activities. When Elmo started playing his drum, she scurried off to find her lady bug drum and then enthusiastically played along with the red monster. And when Elmo's friends showed him how they tap dance, she found her fancy shoes that resemble tap shoes and eagerly demonstrated for me how she tap dances too. She found Mr. Noodle to be humorous, especially when he tried to open a book at the binding and she said, "That's not right, silly Mr. Noodle!"
