In Fuzzy Fuzzy Fuzzy!, Sandra Boynton has created a darling book that your little one will love to explore. Each page contains a large illustration of an animal with a panel that has some sort of texture. The cute animals invite the little reader to touch and feel the differences that are on every page.
This is definitely a book to be explored, and your child will love to take the lead in touching each of the different panels. They will also enjoy the sound of your voice when you read through the few words that accompany each picture. The thick cardboard pages are sturdy enough to withstand some chewing.
My favorite part of this book is the bonding time that I get to share with my youngest nephew Michael. I point out the textured panel, and he follows my lead, fascinated when the texture is different from page to page. He especially loves the pictures of the eggs on the last page because he can open the flaps to reveal two little birds. This is a truly delightful book that will encourage your child to use their sense of touch.

One of the first things I started collecting when I found out I was pregnant were board books and it was easy to see that touch and feel books lacked in both quality and quantity. I do own a couple of them and found them to be either too busy, so baby can’t find what she’s supposed to touch, or the areas are much too small, frustrating her. Fuzzy Fuzzy Fuzzy! is the best touch and feel book I’ve come across! The wording is simple, large, and black against the white page which really draws the attention of the baby. The drawings on each page are adorable, and the touch and feel areas are better defined, helping my daughter be able to play with each area on her own. There’s hair to tousle, rough areas to skritch, super soft duck tummies, smooth snouts, and even a reflective surface and a couple tab areas to lift. The variety is great and I love watching my daughter be able to interact and play with the book.
