Princess Baby
by Karen Katz

Poor baby, no one calls her by her real name "I am not a buttercup, or a giggly goose. I am not a cupcake. Please don't call me Little Lamb, and never ever Gum Drop," she insists. With a curtsy and a twirl, again and again our protagonist makes it abundantly clear who she is. She wears a shiny crown, a fancy dress, sparkly shoes, a velvet cape, and glittery jewels. There are more clues too-she dances with princes, has perfect manners,
and makes sure that everyone in her kingdom is happy. Her persistence
pays off in the end, and even the youngest readers will be cheering,
"Princess Baby. "

Karen Katz's Princess Baby is a really sweet story about a little girl who has grown tired of everyone calling her by a different name than her own. This is a book filled with a lot of love, portrayed by all the different names that people use for the baby. Even though she's not a huge fan of the names, it's clear that she is surrounded by people that love her very much.

The book is filled with pinks, purples, and other bright colors, which will appeal to your little one. There is a sweet sense of humor that your child will pick up on as you read the story. The book ends with the baby getting a big hug and kiss, which gives you a great opportunity to give your baby lots of hugs and kisses too.

My niece Emily believes that she is quite the little princess. She is no stranger to wearing a tiara. She really enjoyed this book when she was younger and she continues to pick it up because now she can read the words, which makes her very proud. And she doesn't mind being called princess at all.
