The characters are quite cute and the music catchy. Kids will enjoy the appealing, upbeat style, and the video is well paced and has just the right amout of repetition. Words such as "frugal," "receipt," and "allowance" are not common vocabulary for pre-schoolers, but the video gives parents an excellent jumping off point to talk to their kids about money.

Children will enjoy both the characters and the music. After some discussion, your child will get the idea that the monkeys are saving money for their friend's birthday, so don't be surprised if they want to start saving for a special occasion too.

My grandkids understood the relationships between the characters, and I believe they now grasp the significance money plays in everyday life. I also noticed they were discussing all the different ways to spend money. The video is very engaging, and the kids asked to see it over and over again. I was very pleased to find a show that's entertaining for my grandkids and teaches important values at the same time.

Immediately after we had our first girl, my wife and I discussed what we really wanted for her - and an understanding of financial literacy was on top of the list. We knew that the whole family needed to be involved in the process of teaching the value of money, and we wanted a way to make the subject really compelling from a young age. I discovered that financial literacy, like literacy, had essential building blocks that kids could and should learn very young - even in preschool.

The PTA (Parent Teacher Association), NEFE (The National Endowment for Financial Education) and CUNA (The Credit Union National Association), among others, advocated the importance of starting before kindergarten. That's when it dawned on us - a fun, engaging video would be a terrific way to help kids learn the basics of financial literacy. I was fortunate enough to be able to leverage more than a decade of film and TV experience which helped in creating The Money Mammals: Saving Money Is Fun video. Incidentally, our first daughter is now six, saves with a three-jar allowance system (Share/Save/Spend Smart) and has her first credit union account. Her sister isn't far behind.

The Money Mammals won a prestigious Dr. Toy as one of the 10 Best Socially Responsible Products. They have also received a Kids First! Endorsement, The Dove Foundation Seal of Approval, a Family Choice Award and the Film Advisory Board 's Award of Excellence.

We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
