Here's a book with something new - "You read to me I'll read to you. We'll read each page To one another - You'll read one side, I the other. But who will read - Now guess this riddle - When the words are in the middle? The answer's easy plain as pie We'll read together, You and I."

This is a very cute and also innovative title to share with a child who is just learning to read. Each of the book's several short stories has text in three different colors: purple words for you, pink words for your child, and blue for you both to read aloud together. The book also focuses on very straightforward concepts, which will make the process of reading easier for children interested in beginning to read.

When you read this book with your child, they will love the give and take as you each read your own special sections. The short words, energetic rhythms, and amusing drawings will keep your child entertained as they are learning. The repetition of words will also reinforce vocabulary words, and they will get even more comfortable as you read this book again and again.

My niece Joanna is now in third grade and one of the more advanced readers in her class. I would definitely attribute this to reading lots of books aloud when she was younger. Books like You Read to Me, I'll Read to You are so important because they helped Joanna make connections between what the word sounds like and what it looks like. This book incorporates equal parts of learning and bonding and it’s perfect for children who want to actively participate in the story.

My daughter is 4 (will be 5 next week!!!) and missed the Kindergarten cut off by a few days. So she is in Preschool with her 3 year old brother. She has been asking us to help her learn her "words". She we have been using drawing pads, flash cards, etc to help her learn her learn. We are trying to work with her at home to keep her from getting bored!

I chose this book as it is perfect for a child learning to read. The book also focuses on very straightforward concepts, which will make the process of reading easier for children interested in beginning to read.

My daughter loves this book. We are having a blast reading it together. It will take some time to get her to learn all the words, but she is having fun trying! Even our 3year old enjoys listening to us read it and look at the pictures! I had no idea there were books like this one out on the market!
